FREE COMMUNITY INFORMATION SESSIONS ON FEBRUARY 9
ALBERTA - Money Mentors invites parents to a free Community Information presentation of "Tackle Debt" at our offices throughout Alberta on February 9 at 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Whether it's everyday purchases, booking a vacation, shopping for a vehicle or buying a house, credit plays a major role in many financial decisions for Albertans. Borrowing money is the easy part; paying it back can be tricky. It's important to understand how to tackle debt and maintain a healthy credit rating to reach financial goals sooner.
"Debt management is a skill a lot of consumers struggle with because it's often learn-as-you-go," says Tracy Watson, Director of Communications for Money Mentors. "It's important to learn all of your options and make sure you deal with your debt as soon as possible. Many people wait over a year before seeking help with their debt, which can cause more damage to not only your credit rating but your overall financial situation."
Money Mentors' free Community Information Sessions are available at the following locations:
Calgary: Suite 150, 1200 - 59 Avenue S.E.
Edmonton: Quikcard Building, Suite 175, 17010 - 103 Avenue
Red Deer: CiRS Building, 4728 Ross Street
Lethbridge: Lethbridge Library, Crossings Branch, 255 Britannia Way Blvd West
Grande Prairie: Aberdeen Building, Suite 404-3, 9728 Montrose Avenue
Money Mentors is the only not-for-profit credit counselling organization deepy rooted in the Alberta landscape. We're dedicated to educating Albertans on debt resolution, the wise use of credit and unbiased personal money management.

FREE COMMUNITY INFORMATION SESSIONS ON DECEMBER 8
ALBERTA - Money Mentors invites parents to a free Community Information presentation of "Enrich Your Kids" at our offices throughout Alberta on December 8 at 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Do you want your kids to learn about money but aren't sure how to teach them? Of all the subjects kids learn growing up, money isn't something they teach in school. Enrich Your Kids creatively breaks down for parents how to show your kids the value of money, budgeting their allowance, the importance of saving, and the basics of banking.
"For parents, teaching the money lesson definitely requires patience," says Tracy Watson, Director of Communications for Money Mentors. "But it's important to learn on the small things and make it practical. It's great that your son or daughter wants to buy something, but it's still important to ask 'do you have enough money to pay for it?' and let your child make that decision based on their own budget."
