Your responsibilities will include the following:

• Assist clients in finding appropriate and satisfactory solutions to their financial difficulties (inside and outside of MM) and assist clients (new and existing) in developing skills to manage their personal finances responsibly
• Set up and manage the Orderly Payment of Debt program as required for appropriate clients
• Facilitate a variety of seminars and community information sessions
• Complete other projects and duties as assigned

You have the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Human Ecology, Commerce or a related discipline;
• Financial counseling, crisis and family counseling, familiarity with community resources, customer service, or supervised internship

You have the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree, College Diploma in Communications or a related discipline
• 1-3 years experience in similar role
• Expertise in Adobe Suite, Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop

• Detail-oriented, organized, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks are essential

Financial Literacy Relations Coordinator

Reports to: Director Financial Literacy

Role:   As a member of the Financial Literacy team, the role of the Financial Literacy Relations Coordinator is to:

1.       Develop and implement initiatives aimed at building awareness, of our school programming within our Financial Literacy Plan
2.      Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships in Calgary and Edmonton area with a variety of stakeholders with ties to financial literacy or youth education
3.      Assist with partnerships in schools, in Grande Prairie, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat and Red Deer   


-Cultivate interest in utilizing Money Mentors’ programs in schools by connecting with appropriate contacts, by identifying key target markets including action plans and evaluation
-Provide back-up in case of emergencies to facilitate presentations for schools
-Coordinates special events such as awareness campaigns, open houses and displays related to youth education
-Identifies and builds school partnerships to ensure strong relationships are proactively developed and maintained
-Identifies and builds relationships with other stakeholders and groups in the community with the intention of increasing the visibility and awareness of Money Mentors’ education programs
-Participate/ assist with displays
-Maintain database and budget
-Travel throughout Alberta will be required, as well as evening and weekend work
-Perform other related duties as needed to achieve goals and priorities set out by Money Mentors

Youth Presenters

Based in: Medicine Hat
Reports to: Financial Literacy Coordinator (Schools)

Interested in helping others learn about good money management and want to make a positive difference for hundreds of high school students?

We want to hear from you!

Money Mentors is a not-for-profit organization that provides money management education to all Albertans. We’re looking for current post-secondary students to deliver presentations (training provided) to high school classes on Budgeting and the Wise Use of Credit. Hours are flexible and we are willing to work around your academic schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver a 1 to 1.5 hour presentation to students in various schools across the city
• All preparation, including supply collection from the Money Mentors’ office
• Assist in evaluating and suggesting improvements for future presentations
• Administrative duties, including follow-up and survey response collection


• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program with daytime availability (8am – 4pm)
• Positive, outgoing, responsible and self-motivated individual
• Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle required
• Possess strong presentation skills and public speaking experience
• Basic understanding of finances and money management, including budgeting
• Previous experience working with youth in a leadership capacity an asset
