CEW 2008 closes with two highly interactive FUN-ancial Seminars!

The students at Centennial High School and Bishop Kidd Junior High School were both pleasantly surprised by Funny Money’s James Cunningham’s highly interactive and informative multimedia presentation.  James treated the students to not-so-traditional school assembly.  James’ presentation started off with cheers and applause as he flashed several money bills into the audience – that sure got their attention, right?  James engaged all the students and he zipped through this presentation, inviting students to come on stage with him and be part of his show.  The students did not hesitate one bit as they soon found out anything James said was very crucial and relevant to their future as young adults.  The Funny Money presentation, as James put it, is a “FUN-ancial” seminar on all things that young adults need to know before they face the “real world”.  James did not use any vocabulary that was over the students’ head – all was relevant and familiar to them.

Nearing the end of the presentation, James invited several students on stage for a one-of-a-kind “Money Dance-off” – students were asked to put together a dance sequence which involved several things they learned over the course of the 45-mins.  The winner was selected through audience cheering and walked home with a hefty cash prize – obviously, to put into their savings account, for the future!

Thank you to James and Funny Money for giving the students the knowledge they need to face the challenges ahead.

James’ two presentations officially wrapped up the second annual Credit Education Week Canada 2008.  We are definitely looking forward to next year, as we invite more schools and students to become involved.
