Christmas talk already? Well today is the 29th of September and that means Christmas is only three months away. But why talk about Christmas already? Well with a little bit of planning, you can ensure that Christmas bills of the past don’t haunt your finances of 2009.

Here are some tips to get you started:

•    Keep your eye on flyers. If you have a gift idea in mind you can look at flyers and sales over the next 12 weeks to make sure you are getting a good deal.
•    Talk to your family members about trying something new this year. Maybe you could draw names and buy for less people or decide to only buy for the little ones in the family only.
•    Start putting a little money from each of your pay cheque now so that you have cash to spend rather than using credit cards.
