Pass or Fail?

Have you been watching “Pass or Fail”, the CBC series on Canadian schools?

Did you see the results of an Environics poll conducted Aug. 1 to 13, 2008, for CBC News: Pass or Fail? Questions were asked of 803 parents of current and former public school students, and people who completed high school within the past decade.

Question 4 asked
“Thinking about the abilities and skills that children will need to succeed in the coming century, do you think it is very important, somewhat important or not important for children to do each of the following:”, and there were 13 topics ranging from learning a language to learn how to cook a meal to study Canadian history.

And what was the top ranked skill?
“Learn how to manage a household budget” was ranked as very important by 82% of respondents – far higher that any other.

If the school system did not teach you how to manage a household budget, and you want that skill, we have the answer. This is our specialty. Money Mentors has personal coaching and seminars to allow anyone to learn this most important life skill. Check the website for our next seminars.
